Now is the time to
discover what being retired is all about. Through RSVP, men and
women, age 55 and older, can share their years of
experience to make a difference in their communities, in the lives of
others and in their own lives as well.
RSVP is a
nationally acclaimed program with 750 chapters across the country and
over 500,000 volunteers serving in their communities. Daviess
County's RSVP was established in 1974, and has more than 300 active
volunteers who work behind the scenes meeting a variety of local needs.
Volunteers
choose how much time they can give in service, where, when and with
whom they want to work. Contact RSVP today to learn more about
how to become a volunteer and bring a little fun into your life.

RSVP News!
Thanks to the generous support of the United Way of
Daviess County, RSVP is thrilled to announce a new program!
In May of this year, we were notified that we had been awarded a
4Community2 Grant to fund an Adult Vision Screening program. RSVP
volunteers currently screen 1500 children annually for vision problems,
and we will now be able to screen the adult population for glaucoma,
cataracts, macular degeneration and visual accuity. The grant has
funded the purchase of two professional grade machines for testing
vision, training, and supplies.
Volunteers will be trained by the fine folks at Prevent Blindness
Indiana and our program should be up and running in the fall. We'll be
offering free screenings throughout Daviess County.
Watch for more details and be sure to take advantage of this program.
There is nothing more precious than the gift of sight!
