RSVP of Daviess & Martin Counties Awarded Three-Year AmeriCorps Senior Grant
WASHINGTON, Ind. – Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Daviess & Martin Counties has been awarded a three-year AmeriCorps Seniors grant from AmeriCorps, the federal agency for national service and volunteerism.
RSVP will receive federal funds annually for three years (FY2027 through FY2029) to support staff and operational expenses, providing a stable foundation for the organization to continue connecting more than 275 volunteers, age 55 and older, with meaningful service opportunities throughout Daviess and Martin counties.
"This grant represents an important milestone for RSVP of Daviess & Martin Counties. Receiving this three-year AmeriCorps Seniors award provides the stable foundation needed to support our staff and continue connecting hundreds of volunteers with meaningful opportunities to serve throughout our communities,” said Andrea Preston, Executive Director.
“While this federal funding strengthens our core operations, it does not lessen our commitment to working alongside local foundations, businesses, government agencies, and community organizations. Those partnerships make it possible to expand programs, launch new initiatives, and respond to local needs. We remain committed to seeking local grants and community support that directly benefit the people and organizations we serve."
RSVP is one of the nation's largest volunteer networks for adults age 55 and older. Through AmeriCorps Seniors, volunteers use their skills, talents, and lifetime of experience to address a wide range of community needs while remaining active and engaged in their communities.
Nationwide, AmeriCorps Seniors awarded 130 RSVP grants to support volunteer programs across the country.
In 2025, RSVP of Daviess & Martin Counties volunteers:
• Served with 34 community agencies
• Supported 81 volunteer projects and programs
