August 2025 Newsletter
August is here which means that school is starting very soon. If you are looking for something to do, many schools are looking for volunteers and play partners. Either contact the schools or our offices to get involved.
If you never received a semi-annual newsletter, please come to our office to pick one up.
Other news: We will be closed on Monday, September 1st in observance of Labor Day.

We would like to host Tech Tuesday more frequently so that seniors who need help with devices can receive that help in a judgement free environment. If you are comfortable with your phone, computer, or tablet and would like to help, please shoot us a text or give us a call. We will be working towards getting a date on the calendar for more community members to come receive help.

The First Choice mailing will be hosted at the Community Building Wednesday, August 13th and Thursday, August 14th from 10 a.m. to noon. We have a few spots available if you would like to come help with folding and labeling.

Bear Workshop is a time when volunteers come together to cut patterns, sew, and stuff teddy bears. These bears go out to children in the hospital, foster care, or who may have been part of a traumatic experience like a car accident. Recently, some of the bears have also been donated to Operation Christmas Shoebox to bless children all over the world. If you would like to be a part of this mission, reach out to us about getting involved.
July 22nd is this month's bear workshop date.

Senior Fitness Classes will resume on August 6th. We apologize for the conflict preventing it from occurring more often. This class tends to have small turn out, so we can cater it more towards you. Need to work on stability? We can do that. Need to work on endurance? Let's get dancing! Jennifer does a great job keeping you moving without pushing you beyond your limits.
If you would have an interest in helping lead a class, give us a call.
